The music for this film has been going pretty good so far. I’ve found several samples of music that I like and I think will really suit the film. So far, I have also created a mixture of sad, sci fi and horror sounding music for the film. Elena and Zherlieen like what I have done so far so that’s very encouraging!
The only problems I have encountered with the music are very small. One of these problems has been that I’ve had to ask people to play bits of music for me. To some people this may not be a problem but I think it’s a problem based on the fact that people aren’t really interested in doing something that nots theirs and don’t really care about it. The other problem I’ve had is that there are some missing loops. This is very annoying because I could use some of those loops but since there missing I can’t and that then means I have to find people to play those parts. A part from that, I have had no other problems.
So far, I have learnt how to use Garage band. With the help of Mr Andrews, self teaching and videos on youtube, I think I’ve become very good at using it. I am really enjoying myself and I think I’m performing very well in Garage band.
Overall, I believe the music is coming along quite nicely and I’m looking forward to the complete soundtrack!

Reflection - Post Filming
I’m not very happy with what’s happened with the post film. For starters, we’re still filming and its becoming very, very annoying because not all of us can come to when we need to film. I understand that we all want to produce an awesome film but we need to think about the deadlines. We are so far behind everyone else and its becoming ridiculous that we have to keep asking for extensions. I am starting to regret not asking the others to do my film. My film had a horror genre where the shy girl was actually the murder. My film was also based in school so we could have just filmed after school but I didn’t say anything to the others because they were ordinary really hooked on Zherlieen’s idea. To be honest, I’m getting really tired of having to re-film every thing but I can understand that it is necessary in order for our film to turn out good.
We have encountered so many problems during both post film and filming that its becoming very frustrating. It’s frustrating because all these problems can be easily avoided if we had planned better and filmed correctly the first time. To be honest, I feel like I’m wasting my time since we need to keep filming over and over again. I really wish we could get our act together and finish the filming so we can start the music and editing.

Reflection - Filming
Filming has taken a great deal of time but I think it has all paid off. From what I’ve seen off the film, it actually looks pretty cool. The scene where were walking up and down the stairs looks tremendous and the spell scene looks cool as well. I really think that this film will turn out awesome because of all the hard work all of us have put into it.
We encountered several problems on our journey to film our work but we managed to solve them. The first problem we encountered was when we were going to film. Since all of us live a busy life, there were times were not all of us could make it to filming and sometimes people would cancel at the last minute. I will admit there were a couple of times I couldn’t make it to filming because since there’s only my mum, she sometimes couldn’t get me out to where we were filming. Another problem was we needed to have most of the film filmed before the holidays because Zherlieen would be away for the whole holidays but lucky we were able to get most of it done. The last problem we encountered was cutting down the footage so our film would be at an appropriate length. We had filmed so much footage that we were struggling to cut out parts and still keep the film flowing. That was pretty much all the problems and difficulties we faced.
If I could start this whole process again, I would change two things. The first thing I would change would be the group’s time management. This is because we did not manage our time well at all. We wasted so much time on decided what we would do and how we would film so when we finally did start filming, it was either to dark or one of us had to leave. The second thing I would change would be the storyline. As awesome as this film is, its taking way to long to film and organize. I think that if we had done a simpler idea that we would not be in as much trouble or as far behind as we are. Those would be the only things I would change.
So far in filming, I’ve learnt many new and exciting things. I’ve learnt how to film correctly using a camera and I’ve learnt how to storyboard and how to do an editing list. As hard as this unit of work is, I’ve learnt so many important things and I believe that everything I’ve learnt will somehow help me in the future.

To be honest, I’m really looking forward to filming! We have planned so much but I think we could still do more. It’s true that we have done a lot but I don’t think we ready to film yet. We have done a shot list and storyboards to go with the film and each of these are in great detail. I have also done some research on black magic and spells that we can use to tie into the film. I think the film we are now doing would be based off of dark magic and what we think some of the consequences would be if a person did use dark magic.

Music in the Film
Since I'm in charge of the music, I decided to find several examples of types of music that I wanted for the film.

When I first heard this piece of music, I could just image Elena's death and this song playing softly in the background. It feels very emotional and it made me sad and teary. Those are the types of emotions I want people to feel when Elena dies.

I couldn't see this piece of music in any section of the film but I really liked the song. I think it could be used for the ending credits. I think this because it sounds like something one would play at a funeral and since everyone died, I think it fits in quite nicely.

Creative Media Reflection
So far in creative media, my group and I have been filming and editing our film. At first we wanted to film Zhierleen’s film but after brainstorming, we decided that we would create a film based on all our films. I will admit, at first I wasn’t so hot on the idea because the project was due in a week but Mr Andrews gave us an extension and after Elena showed me what she had planned I became very excited about filming what we had created!

During filming, I discovered several skills that I didn’t know I had. I discovered that I wasn’t too bad at filming and I could use the camera very well. At first, I was very concerned that I wouldn’t be able to use the camera but it turns out I can use it quite well. The other skill I discovered that I had was I could use Final Cut very well. A hobby of mine is to edit film and add music to it. At first I thought Final Cut would be a lot harder since I use Sony Vegas but it turns out that both programs are very similar to each other so I found using Final Cut quite easy. That was all the skills I discovered during the project.
So far I am quite satisfied with the film. The only improvement I believe we can make is to make the film flow a bit better. The film is quite good but there are some scenes where I believe we need to add extra footage so it flows just like a movie.
Overall, I don’t think we managed our time effectively at all. A week before the project was due, we changed our entire film and we didn’t make a solid plan of when we would film. We would call each other the night before and try to film the next day which was quite silly since we would need at least a days notice so we could make it. So that is why I don’t believe we managed our time effectively.

I would have the film idea already done and have a plan or a rough idea on when and what scenes we would be filming. If we could have done this the first time, then filming would have been a lot easier and we most likely would have had the film completed by the due date. This would be the only thing I change and if we started again I would also do this.
As far as I know, we have uploaded the footage onto the macs and it has worked fine. However, we have a major problem since Elena is the only one with the footage. So it something were to happen to Elena’s hard drive, we would lost all our footage. This is why I brought my own hard drive except I need to set it up so I can load stuff onto it. Once I have my hard drive up and running, I will get the footage so we have a back up. I will also put the footage on my external hard drive at home so if anything happens to our (Elena’s and mine) hard drives, we will have another copy.

Music In Film Exercise
How the music makes me feel...
It gives off a very eerie feeling and makes me feel nervous. At first I feel very nervous and slightly worried because I think that something very bad is about to happen. Further on in the piece of music, I feel drawn in because of the sudden change in music. It goes from being creepy and eerie to a steady beating and has an almost adventurous feeling to. It gets louder as if something big is happening or something dramatic. Towards the end it starts to quieten down and goes back to that eerie music.
Instruments
Flutes, string instruments, horns, piano (I think) and subtle music is heard behind the main music. The flute and string instruments are played slowly and the build up of instruments gets played loudly.
What I think is happening
The camera is slowly traveling through a haunted forest and suddenly breaks through the trees and starts traveling over at section of land. It goes over mountains and over forests. It starts to travel over a large body of water and fish jump out of the water. It then continues to travel over the land before it slows down and slowly travels through either a city or another dark forest. It suddenly goes faster and travels towards another location before it stops at its final location.
